Cross Country Competes at Georgia Tech Invitational
Atlanta, Georgia- The Golden Tigers cross-country team placed 14th in a highly competitive field at the Georgia Tech Cross Country Invitational this past weekend.
Filled with teams from across all levels of collegiate cross country, the team was the sole NAIA team in the 6K race and showed well overall.
Sophomore Averie Akin paced the squad with a time of 24:03 to place 47th out of 191 total competitors. Senior Kamille Dixon finished close behind in 50th place in a time of 24:11.
Sophomore Victoria Woods ran 26:58 to place 124th, while Gladys Blanco Choque placed 154th with a time of 28:48.
Other Golden Tiger finishers include freshman RaYanna Ellis-Pickett (155th/28:58), junior Paloma Resendiz-Perez (159th place/29:12), and sophomore Leslie Cabrera (182nd/34:27).
Brenau ran an average team time of 25:17 to place ahead of Bob Jones (SC) University, Florida A&M, Tuskegee (Ala.) and Clayton State (Ga.) University.
Florida State University won the team title, while host Georgia Tech placed second.
Brenau next races at the Nooga at Night race on Saturday October 12th in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
