Cross Country Competes at Royals Challenge

Charlotte, North Carolina- The Golden Tigers cross-country team showed well at the Royals Challenge 5K in Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday. 

In the 5K Blue race, freshman Averie Akin led the Golden Tigers with a time of 19:48 to place 9th overall out of 180 runners, while fellow freshman Gladys Bianco placed 58th in a time of 21:53. 

Sophomore Jaeva Ridley ran 25:38 to place 138th, while freshman Mikhailah Hayes added a time of 26:38 to place 155th, and fellow freshman Alondra Rivera finished 162nd in a time of 27:37.

Overall, the squad placed 17th out of 24 teams while Converse (SC) College took the top team honors. 

The Golden Tigers next races at the NAIA Challenge on October 20th.
