Cross Country Places Ninth at 2021 AAC Championships
Canton, Georgia- The Brenau cross country team placed ninth at the 2021 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships held at Boling Park this past weekend.
The squad posted a total team time of 1:52.18 and an average team time of 22.28 at the championships.
Individually, senior Zoie Gardner led the Golden Tigers with a time of 20:52 to place 41st, while freshman Amaranta Serna placed 59th in 21:35.
Sophomore Brionna Bierkamp ran 23:05 to place 72nd and teammate Lahna Wempner came in less than seven seconds behind her to capture 73rd in 23:12. Sophomore Jayda Burkett ran 23:31 to finish in 78th place.
Milligan (Tenn.) University captured both top team and individual honors as the Buffaloes' Alyssa Berazi ran a 17:42 to pace her team's average team time of 18:23. Montreat (NC) came in second in the team standings with an average of 18:58 and Tennessee Wesleyan placed third with an average time of 20:22.
