Cross Country Places Ninth at Koala Classic
Columbia, South Carolina- The Brenau cross country team placed ninth in the Koala XC Classic hosted by Columbia College on Saturday.
The Golden Tigers posted a total time of 2:21.40 and an average time of 28:20 in the 6k race.
Junior Zoie Gardner paced Brenau with a strong time of 25:38 to finish in 26th place overall out of 115 competitors. Freshman Amaranta Serna ran 27:25 to finish 50th and fellow freshman Lahna Wempner placed 68th with a time of 28:41.
Sophomore Brionna Bierkamp finished just behind Wempner to earn 69th place in 29:04, while junior Keren Kapwadi (82nd place/30:510) and sophomore Jayda Burkett (101st place/33:27) rounded out the Golden Tigers finishers.
Converse (SC) College won the overall team title with a total team time of 2:02.57 and Belmont Abbey (NC) sophomore Makenna Pallozzi won the individual title in a time of 6:14.50.
Brenau next races at the Royals Challenge, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte on October 8th.
