Cross Country Places Eighth at UNG Invitational
Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau cross country team placed eighth at the UNG Invitational on Friday evening.
The Golden Tigers posted a total team time of 1:51.57 and an average time of 22:23 against a talented field of runners.
Senior Zoie Gardner led the way with a time of 20:45 to place 28th, while freshman Lahna Wempner captured 38th place in 21:27.
Fellow freshman Amaranta Serna raced to 56th place in 22:22, while sophomores Brionna Bierkamp (22:56/60th place) and Jayda Burkett (24:25/69th place) and junior Keren Kapwadi (25:13/76th place) each performed well for the Golden Tigers.
Five Brenau runners posted individual personal records at the meet,
"This team is improving rapidly," said head coach Byron Kramer. " We have a great work ethic and it shows as our times continue to get faster."
Host North Georgia captured top team honors in 1:35.11, while Dalton State (1:36.06) and Georgia College and State University (1:42.46) round out the top three finishers.
