Cross Country Takes Sixth at 2019 AAC Championships
Canton, Georgia- The Brenau cross country team placed sixth out of fifteen teams at the 2019 Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships at Boling Park on Saturday.
The Golden Tigers posted a total team time of 1:46.55 and an average individual time of 21:23 at the championships.
Sophomore Shannon Hoolahan led the Golden Tigers with a 19th place individual finish out of 123 runners. The Hoschton, Ga. native raced to a 19:16 time and had an average mile time of 6:12.
Teammate Rachel Boulineau also had a strong performance for the Golden Tigers, posting a time of 19:25 to capture 22nd place.
Junior Bianca Orr also had a solid showing with a time of 21:43 (52nd place), while sophomore Kayland Thomason ran a 22:08 to take 61st place. Other top Brenau finishers include: Giovanna Sifontes (24:23/83rd place), Jayda Burkett (24:44/85th place), Keren Kepwadi (25:42/90th place), Kanyisola Anjorin (27:46/97th place), Evelin Gouveia (27:59/98th place) and Paola Benitez-Hernandez (33:17/106th place).
SCAD-Atlanta took top team honors with a total team time of 1:30.31, while Milligan (Tn.) College (1:32.03) and Tennessee Wesleyan University (1:35.31) round out the top three team finishers.
SCAD's Emily Kearney won the individual title with a blistering time of 16:52.
