Cross Country Voted Second in Preseason SSAC Poll
The Brenau cross country team was voted tied for second place in the 2015 Southern States Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Coaches' Preseason Poll, the conference announced on Monday.
The Golden Tigers finished with 69 votes to tie with Blue Mountain College in the early poll. Reigning conference champion Dalton State (Ga.) College was a unanimous selection, receiving all nine first place votes for 81 points.
Loyola (La.) (51 points) was chosen in fourth place, while Mobile (Ala.) (45 points) and Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.) (35 points) rounded out the top six. William Carey (Miss.), Bethel (Tenn.) and Brewton Parker (Ga.) capped off the preseason voting with sixth through ninth places respectively.
Brenau opens the 2015 season at the Dalton State Twilight Classic in Varnell, Ga. on September 4th.
