Brenau Runners Show Well At Cross Country Nationals

LAWRENCE, Kansas- The Brenau Cross Country team was represented well at the 2014 NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships as Utami Ketchem and Brittany Aikens competed against the best runners in the nation on Saturday.

Ketchem, a two-time national qualifier, finished the race with a time of 20.19. The junior from Flowery Branch, Ga. placed third place among SSAC runners and 222 out of 336 runners.

Aikens, a four-time national qualifier from Braselton, Ga., finished the 5k race in 20:43 which placed 261 out of 336 overall runners.

"Utami and Brittany represented Brenau in true Tiger fashion today," said head coach Susan McIntyre. "I am very proud of both of them".

The National Championship performance wraps up an outstanding 2014 season for the cross country team as the team celebrated a second place SSAC team finish, two national qualifiers, four SSAC All-Conference performers and seven SSAC All-Academic team members.
