Cross Country Finishes Second At Point Invitational
The Brenau cross country team tallied their third consecutive top-three finish with a second place overall finish at the Point (Ga.) Invitational in Lannett, Alabama on Friday.
Racing 11 other team, the Golden Tigers outpaced 11 other teams, scoring an average team time of 19:54. Brenau placed close behind host Point University and ahead of NCAA Division II Young Harris (Ga.) College and the University of West Georgia and SSAC rival Auburn University-Montgomery (Ala.)
Junior Utami Ketchem led the squad with a second place overall finish, while running a personal record of 18:53. Senior Brittany Aikens finished in eighth place with a 19:43, while junior Deishane Honeycutt placed eleventh in 19:58.
Jasmine Ray also finished with a personal best of 19:59, which earned her 12th place and Tyana Luna rounded out the top five Golden Tigers finishers with a 25th place finish in 20:57.
Kaitlyn Gearing (21:06), Sarah Saenz (22:01), Ismaelle Occeus (22:20), Breanna Archer (22:50), Eva Williams (26:14) andAnazjah Mayes (26:59) also finished for the Golden Tigers.
Brenau takes a short break before returning to the course on October 17th when the team runs in the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
