Cochran Leads the Way at Southern Wesleyan Invitational

Central, SC - It is Homecoming Weekend at Southern Wesleyan University as the Brenau cross country team participated in the SWU Invitational this morning and came away with a third place finish. Senior stalwart Audra Cochran paced the Tigers effort with a third place finish with a time of 21:21 in the field of 42 runners.
Cochran had good support from Freshman Ana Lopera (Flowery Branch), who finished 9th (22:39) and Junior Maria Gonzalez (10th, 22:40). Regina Ogechi was next (18th, 23:54), and Monica Muchene rounded out the top five (23rd, 25:37).
"We were very pleased with the team's performance," said Coach Susan McIntyre. "We had a difficult week with illness, which kept Eileen DeVico out of the race. We are looking forward to next week's race in Louisville."
