Quintero Eclipses 2,000 Assists for Career
Gainesville, Georgia- Setter Nathalia Quintero sealed her place in the Brenau volleyball record books by crossing the 2,000 assist threshold for her career in the quarterfinal match versus University of Pikeville (Ky) at the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Volleyball Championships on Thursday.
Quintero became only the fourth Golden Tiger to earn this distinction, joining former Brenau standouts Audra VanArsdal (2006-2009), Gabrielle Hogle (2021-2024), and Mekenna Cipres (2009-2012) in the exclusive 2,000 assist club.
VanArsdal owns the Brenau career assist record with 3,204 assists.
"I am so very proud of Nathalia, who has been on a mission to take us as far as we can go," said head volleyball coach Patrick Nicholas. "By finishing 5th in the conference, which far surpassed preseason expectations, and earning a trip to the conference volleyball championships, it has been a special season and a fun ride"
During the 2025 campaign, Quintero earned a 2025 AAC Volleyball First-Team nod for her regular-season performance, leading the Golden Tigers in assists and finishing second in the AAC in assists per set (8.34). She also posted a strong defensive season with 204 total digs, which was third third-best on the team.
"Nathalia's having an outstanding season," continued Nicholas. "And she is one of only two or three setters in the conference that runs a 5-1 offense, which means she is the sole quarterback and is responsible for running our offense by herself. Congratulations, Nathalia!"
