Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau volleyball team earned two home conference wins by defeating Truett McConnell (Ga.) University (25-20, 25-11, 25-15) and Montreat (NC) College (25-12, 25-19, 25-9) this past weekend.
In Friday's match versus Truett McConnell (9-7 overall, 2-2 AAC), the Golden Tigers posted a blistering .452 hitting percentage to roll past the visiting Bears in three sets.
Junior Ashlyn Browning led the offensive attack with 13 kills and a .480 hitting percentage and fellow junior Hannah Werner added 8 kills with a .357 hitting percentage. Junior setter Nathalia Quintero posted 30 assists, while junior libero Jomaris Maldonado led the defense with 14 kills. Freshmen Alyssa Evans and Robyn Gray added four and three blocks respectively.
Against Montreat (0-4 overall, 0-4 AAC), the squad used an all-around effort and a .407 hitting percentage to take the match in three sets.
Brenau (6-7 overall, 3-2 AAC) next plays host to Milligan (Tenn.) College (2-14 overall, 1-3 AAC) on Friday at 6:30 pm eastern.
