Volleyball Players Receive AVCA Regional Honors
Lexington, Kentucky- American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) honored Brenau volleyball players Julieanne Saliba and Mary Ellen Enright in their NAIA All-Region awards this past weekend.
Saliba received special recognition as the 2022 NAIA Northeast Region Defender of the Year for her stellar performance during this past season. The Buford, Ga. native registered 413 digs and was a defensive stalwart for the Golden Tigers this season. Saliba was also named as the AAC Libero of the Year honors earlier in the month and the honors cap an outstanding volleyball career.
Enright also received AVCA Northeast Region honors for her play during the season. The outside hitter was an offensive force and led the nation in kills per set (4.75) and was sixth in total kills (508). The honor caps off an exceptional postseason that culminated in receiving Brenau’s first NAIA All-American honors this past week.
The mission of the AVCA is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development. With a membership of almost 7,000 and counting, the AVCA provides a professional network for those individuals and companies dedicated to enhancing and promoting the sport.
