Volleyball Receives 2022 AAC Postseason Honors
Waleska, Georgia- The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) honored members of the Brenau volleyball team for their athletic and academic achievements during the 2022 season, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Senior Julieanne Saliba received AAC Libero of the Year honors as well as All-AAC First-Team honors for her performance during the 2022 season. The Buford, Ga. native registered a 5.43 digs-per-set average over 20 conference matches. She tallied 413 digs to go along with 65 assists and 29 service aces in conference play. Among AAC players, Saliba ranked second in both total digs and digs per set, while nationally she was 12th in total digs and 13th in digs per set.
Mary Ellen Enright also received All-AAC First-Team recognition for her outstanding play this season. The outside hitter led both the NAIA and the AAC in kills per set (4.82) and was second in the AAC and fourth nationally in total kills. Additionally, she received NAIA National Hitter of the Week honors for her performance during the week of October 23rd.
Setter Gabrielle Hogle received All-AAC Second-Team honors for the 2022 season. Hogle posted 9.37 assists per set in conference play, which was ranked third in the league. She also received AAC Player of the Week honors during the regular season.
Academically, Saliba, Enright and Hogle joined teammates Chloe Bennett, Madison Brock, Malone Davis and Annabeth Vandiver on the AAC All-Academic team. Recipients of this honor must be at least sophomore status and have a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
