Volleyball Defeats Montreat on Senior Day

Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau volleyball team defeated Montreat (N.C.) University 3-1 (25-21, 25-14, 21-25, 25-15) in Appalachian Athletic Conference competition on Saturday.

The squad rolled through the first two sets but fell to the visiting Cavaliers in the third set. In the final stanza, the Golden Tigers took early control and cruised to the win.

Senior Mary Ellen Enright led all hitters with 17 kills and added 10 digs, while junior Chloe Bennett added a season-high 15 kills.

Setter Gabrielle Hogle had 38 assists and 11 digs and libero Julieanne Saliba led Brenau with 14 digs.

Montreat's Katie Dickey posted a team-high 12 kills.

Brenau (9-13 overall, 7-7 AAC) next hosts Truett McConnell (Ga.) University (14-12 overall, 8-5 AAC) on Tuesday at 6:30 pm eastern.
