Volleyball Voted Fifth in 2022 AAC Preseason Poll
Asheville, North Carolina- The Brenau volleyball team is ranked fifth in the 2022 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference announced on Monday.
The Golden Tigers amassed 151 total votes, including one first-place vote, in the fifteen team poll. Fresh off a strong 20-13 season, the squad returns seven letter winners, including a trio of AAC standouts to a deep and talented team. .
AAC First Team All-Conference performer Mary Ellen Enright and AAC All-Freshman Malone Davis lead the attack, while AAC second team All-Conference member Julieanne Saliba returns as a defensive stalwart for the Golden Tigers. Veteran setter Gabrielle Hogle, M/OH Annabeth Vandiver, OH Chloe Bennett and DS Madison Brock round out an experienced squad that looks to contend for top AAC honors.
Transfer middle blocker Madison McCollough provides experience and a host of talented freshmen including OH Ashlyn Browning, DS/L Dallas Morse, MH Laila Reed, S Sarah Wages, OH Denai Beckford and DS Yuliana Moss look to infuse more talent into the program.
Columbia International (SC) led the voting with 218 points, including nine of the 15 first place votes, while 2021 tournament champ Bryan (Tenn.) College finished in second with 200 points.
The Golden Tigers open the 2022 campaign at the Life University Running Eagles Classic on August 26th versus the University of Tennessee Southern.
