Volleyball Rolls Past Bluefield and Kentucky Christian
Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau volleyball team defeated Bluefield (Va.) University and Kentucky Christian University to win two Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matches this past weekend.
On Friday, the Golden Tigers used a solid offensive attack to roll past Bluefield University in three sets (25-20, 25-22, 25-14).
Brenau had three players with double figure kills and posted a .202 to .112 hitting advantage over the visiting Rams (11-7 overall, 7-2 AAC), who entered the match in second place in the AAC.
Junior Mary Ellen Enright led the attack with a match-high 14 kills, while senior Rachel Hodges and freshman Malone Davis each posted 11 kills. Junior setter Gabrielle Hogle added 26 assists and junior libero Julieanne Saliba had 22 digs.
The momentum continued on Saturday as Brenau rolled past Kentucky Christian 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-16).
The host Golden Tigers outhit the visiting Crusaders .282 to .073 to capture its second win of the weekend.
Brenau (10-9 overall, 5-4 AAC) next travels to Point (Ga.) University (8-9 overall, 5-4 AAC) on Tuesday.
