Volleyball Rolls Past Columbia in AAC Play
Columbia, South Carolina- The Brenau volleyball team used a strong offensive attack to defeat Columbia College 3-1 (25-12, 23-25, 25-12, 25-22) in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Tuesday.
The Golden Tigers held a decided advantage over the host Koalas in both kills (63-28) and hitting percentage of .311 to .105 in the win.
Junior outside hitter Mary Ellen Enright continued her strong play with 15 kills in the match, while senior Rachel Hodges added nine kills. Sophomore Chloe Bennett and senior TyLeeah Maddox each added seven kills in the win.
Defensively, junior libero Julieanne Saliba added 15 digs and setter junior Gabrielle Hogle added 33 assists and seven digs.
Brenau (6-8 overall, 3-3 AAC) next play a pair of non-conference matches against Toccoa Falls (Ga.) College (3-6 overall) and Pensacola Christian (Fla.) College (4-9 overall) on Saturday at 11 am and 3 pm respectively in Gainesville.
