Volleyball Struggles on the Road In AAC Play

The Brenau volleyball team lost to Bluefield (Va.) College and Union (Ky.) College in a pair of Appalachian Athletic Conference matches this weekend.

Against Bluefield, the Golden Tigers won the opening two sets 25-20 and 25-19, but were unable to hold their lead as the host Rams won the final three sets 25-10, 25-21 and 15-4 to take the match.

Nicole Ighile led Brenau with 11 kills, while Kayleigh Reece posted a career-high 19 digs.

On Saturday, the Golden Tigers struggled early as the Union Bulldogs won in three sets, 25-18, 25-10, 25-14.

The Bulldogs outhit the Golden Tigers with an attack percentage of .263 to .038 in the match.

Brenau (2-20 overall, 1-14 AAC) next hosts Allen (S.C.) University (7-12 overall, 2-7 AAC) on Tuesday at 6:30 pm eastern in Gainesville.
