Volleyball Comes Up Short Against Reinhardt
The Brenau volleyball team pushed the Reinhardt Eagles but came up just short in a 3-0 loss (31-29, 25-15, 33-31) in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Tuesday in Gainesville.
In a highly competitive first set, the Golden Tigers pushed the top-ranked Eagles (25-5 overall, 15-1 AAC) to a 23-23 tie, but fell with a 31-29 loss.
After a second set loss, the home team regained their composure and again pushed the visitors to the limit, but the again the Eagles escaped with a 33-31 win to close out the match.
Freshman Karlee Moss had a game-high 17 kills, while setter Savannah Wilbanks added 29 assists. Savannah Combs also earned 20 digs in the match.
Brenau (9-20 overall, 8-9 AAC), which previously qualified for the AAC conference tournament, closes out the regular season with a Thursday home match against St. Andrews (NC) College at 6:30 pm eastern.
