Volleyball Wins Third Straight Conference Match

The Brenau volleyball team defeated Allen (SC) University 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22) in a crucial Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday in Columbia, SC.

The victory gave the Golden Tigers sole possession of fourth place in the South Division and a three game lead over Allen (13-11 overall, 5-10 AAC) in the playoff race. The Golden Tigers swept the season series against the Yellow Jackets after winning their early October match.

After cruising to a 25-17 first set win, the Golden Tigers scratched out two of the next three sets to earn their eighth conference game of the season and extend their winning streak to three games.

Karlee Moss continued her strong freshman campaign with 19 kills and eight digs, while Nicole Ighile had 11 kills and a .400 attack percentage. Lanier Leonard chipped in nine kills and Savannah Combs had a solid defensive match with 30 digs

Brenau (9-17 overall, 8-6 AAC) next travels to Point (Ga.) University (17-8 overall, 12-5 AAC) on Thursday for a 6:30 eastern conference matchup.
