Volleyball Receives Postseason Honors
Members of the Brenau volleyball team were recognized by the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) for their outstanding contributions during the 2016 season, the conference announced Thursday.
Jasmine Jones was voted as a 2016 SSAC Second-Team All-Conference player for her performances this season. Jones, a native of Atlanta, Ga, was ranked second in kills per set (3.8) in the conference and tied for fourth in total kills (348).
Savannah Wilbanks received two awards, earning both 2016 SSAC Second-Team All-Conference recognition and All-Freshman team honors. The Adairsville, Ga. native was fourth in assists per set (8.8) and third in total assists (107).
Amanda Bowersox, Pamela Konken, Allie Smith and Erin Starnes were also honored with SSAC All-Academic recognition. Recipients must attain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average or higher over a minimum of 24 semester hours of college level work.
Smith was also named to the SSAC Champions of Character team. Honorees are selected for their commitment to the NAIA Five Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.
