Volleyball Comes Up Short Against Life
The Brenau volleyball team lost in three sets to Life (Ga.) University in a non-conference match up on Tuesday in Gainesville.
After leading most of the first set, the Running Eagles rallied to squeak out the first set, 21-25. In the second set, Brenau again jumped out to a 9-6 lead, however the visitors rallied to score the next five consecutive points to take the lead and ultimately pull out the set 19-25.
In the final frame, Brenau continued to push for the win, but momentum fell in the last few points for a 22-25 loss.
Seniors Jasmine Jones and Pam Konken added combined for 18 kills, while fellow senior Allie Smith added six kills. Freshman setter Savannah Wilbanks notched 27 assists, while sophomore libero Carlee Praznik had 19 digs.
Brenau (3-13 overall, 1-6 SSAC) next hosts SSAC team Middle Georgia State on Thursday at 7 pm in Gainesville.
