Volleyball Falls in SSAC Play

The Brenau volleyball team dropped a pair of Southern Stats Athletic Conference matches with losses to Dalton State (Ga.) College and Faulkner (Ala.) University this weekend.

On Friday, the Golden Tigers dropped the first two sets 20-25 and 12-25, but rallied to win the third set 25-21. In the fourth set, Brenau was unable to keep pace with the Roadrunners, falling 21-25.

Pam Konken led the attack with 14 kills, while Erin Starnes added a season-high 13 kills. Savannah Wilbanks added 29 assists.

In Saturday's matchup, Brenau struggled to find consistency against the vising Eagles, falling in straight sets, 25-27, 16-25 and 19-25.

Konken again led the Golden Tigers with 12 kills, while Wilbanks chipped in 29 assists.

Brenau (2-8 overall, 0-2 SSAC) next plays host to conference rival Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College on Friday at 7 pm in Gainesville.
