Volleyball Closes Out Weekend With Split

On day two of the Life University Running Eagles Classic, the Brenau volleyball team split another two matches with a win over Reinhardt (Ga.) University and a loss to Coker (Ga.) College.

Against Reinhardt, the Golden Tigers earned their second win with a three-set victory over the Eagles with scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-21.

Senior Jasmine Jones continued her strong play with 11 kills, while sophomore Nicole Ighile added nine kills. Freshman setter Savannah Wilbanks added 33 assists in the win.

In the final game of the Classic, Brenau lost 3-1 to Coker, falling in three sets, 16-25, 25-23, 22-25, 17-25.

Wilbanks tied a season-high with 42 assists, while Jones added a season-high 23 kills. Senior Pamela Konken also added a season-high 10 kills in the loss.

Brenau (2-6 overall) opens conference play on Friday when they play host to Dalton State (Ga.) College at 7 pm in Gainesville.
