Volleyball Splits to Close Out SSAC Play
The Brenau volleyball team split two Southern States Athletic Conference matches over the weekend to wrap up the 2015 regular season conference slate.
On Friday, Brenau defeated Brewton Parker 25-21, 25-15, 25-16 to capture their 10th win of the season.
After a close first set, the Golden Tigers found their rhythm to easily run past the Barons in the second and third sets.
Jasmine Jones and Sydney Koon combined for 22 kills, while Tiffany Ozieh added eight kills. Koon also added 19 digs, while Pam Konken added 15 kills.
"Although we were missing starters, the rest of the team stepped up and played well against Brewton Parker," said head coach Michael Carter. "For the first time all season, we limited the unforced errors that have plagued us all season."
Against #21 Coastal Georgia, the Golden Tigers fell 17-25, 14-25, 14-25 to close out the SSAC schedule. Jones again led Brenau with eight kills, while Koon added seven.
Brenau (10-18, 4-12 SSAC) next hosts non-conference opponent Fort Valley State (Ga.) University for Senior Day on November 4th at 7 pm in Gainesville.
