Hannah Signs with Brenau Volleyball
Brenau University volleyball coach, Jeff White, announces the signing of Virginia Hannah to the 2012 Golden Tigers volleyball team. Hannah, who hails from Atlanta, is White's fourth signee of the year and is also a former player from his club team.
Hannah's accolades include her twice being named to both All-County and All-Area volleyball teams. First, as a junior, playing in the "libero" position, her high school team made it to the "Sweet 16" round of the state playoffs. In her senior year, following her team's region championship and its' advancement to the quarterfinals of the state tournament for the first time in school history, Hannah was once again recognized on both teams.
A 2011 graduate of North Gwinnett High School, Hannah originally wasn't certain about playing competitive volleyball past her senior year. However, following her year off and after contacting Coach White, upon his being named as the volleyball coach for the Golden Tigers, things came together for Hannah. Ironically, she was named as "the most likely to play in college" by one of her first volleyball coaches.
At Brenau, Hannah is undecided on a major but is leaning towards business or marketing. She currently occupies much of her time by either playing or serving as an assistant coach at the GA5 volleyball club in Atlanta. She spoke excitedly about the opportunity to play volleyball for the Golden Tigers by saying, "It's been a dream of mine since I was 12 years old. I'm excited to advance my education at Brenau University and to grow as a volleyball player under the coaching of Jeff White."
