Track Places Seventh at KSU Invitational

Kennesaw, Georgia- The Brenau outdoor track and field team had several outstanding performances as the team placed seventh at the Kennesaw State Invitational this past weekend.

Freshman Jaeva Ridley led the way with a second place in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:07.11. Fellow freshman Sha’Nya Woolery also had a strong fourth place in the shot put,  with a throw of 11.95m. She also added an 11th place performance in the discus.

Additionally, the 4x400 relay team of Kayland Thomason, Kamryn Chambliss, Taylor Green and Jaeva Ridley added a 3rd place finish with a time of 4:05.73.

In a very deep field of athletes, the Golden Tigers showed well. Top 15 finishers include:

Mitchel Alex: 10th place, triple jump, 9.79m;

Emelia Askew: 9th place, 400 hurdles, 1:15.97;

Jayda Burkett: 9th place, javelin, 32.61m; 11th place, 100 meter hurdles, 16.55;

Katherine Fourie: 10th place, shot put, 10.65m; 10th place, javelin, 32.28m;

Oluwatomisin John: 5th place, triple jump, 10.68m;

Jasmine Johnson: 7th place, triple jump, 10.04m;

Hedvig Lind: 12th place, 800 meter run, 2:44.79;

Vanessa Providence: 8th place, high jump, 1.45m;

Elajiah Smith: 13th place, 100 meter hurdles, 17.14;

Kayland Thomason: 8th place, 800 meter run, 2:30.71;

4x100 relay team of Kamryn Chambliss, Elajiah Smith, Oluwatsomisin John and Jasmine Johnson, sixth place, 49.40;
