Track Competes at Gotta Run Invite

Central, South Carolina- Members of the Brenau track and field team competed at the Gotta Run Invite, hosted by Southern Wesleyan (S.C.) University this past weekend.

The squad earned two first place finishes as Talara Harper won the long jump with a leap of 5.44 meters and Nathalia Rowe earned top honors in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.88;

The relays had solid days as the 4x100 relay team placed third overall in a time of 49:86 and the 4x400 relay team finished sixth in 4:11.10.

Other top Golden Tiger finishers include:

Shatrice Dixon: long jump, first place, 5.44m; triple jump, 100 meter dash, tenth place, 12.65;

Zoie Gardner: 300 meter run, 15th place, 12:41.70;

Taylor Green: 400 meter run, 1:05.23;

Katherine Fourie: javelin throw, fifth place, 33.66m;

Talara Harper: 100 meter dash, ninth place, 12.63; long jump, first place, 5.44m;

Oluwatomisin John: long jump, seventh place, 5.04m;

Keren Kapwadi: 400 meter run, 31st place, 1:04.66; high jump, twelfth place, 1.40m;

Jailyn Kendrick: shot put, seventh place, 10.92m;

Cameron Mims: shot put, eighth place, 10.56m; hammer throw,, javelin throw,

Nathalia Rowe: 400 hurdles, first place, 1:05.88;

Amaranta Serna: 400 meter run, 25th place, 1:04.01; 800 meter run, 24th place, 2:39.40;

Kayland Thomason: 800 meter run, 14th place, 2:33.32;

Lahna Wempner: 800 meter run, 38th place, 3:00.50;

The squad now looks ahead to the 2022 Appalachian Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships, hosted in Johnson City, Tennessee on April 22nd and 23rd.
