Track Shows Well at Terrier Relays
The Brenau track team continued their mid-season successes with a strong showing at the Terrier Relays, hosted by Wofford (SC) University in Spartanburg this past weekend.
The Golden Tigers had numerous top-15 finishes against a strong field of teams, highlighted by Olamide Sokunbi's meet record in the 100 meter dash.
Sokunbi, who also won the 100 meters at the Emory Invitational, slipped by USC-Upstate's Brenicke Johnson by .01 seconds to win the event. The senior also placed 8th in the 200 meter dash in 25.22.
Hunter Creswell also had two top-ten finishes as the senior placed third in the pole vault (11-0) and seventh in the javelin (106-05.25).
The 4 x 400 team of Cheyenne Wells, Ayana Daniels, Nia Griffin and Deishane' Honeycutt raced to a third place finish in a good time of 3:58.99, while the 4x100 team of Sokunbi, Wells, Honeycutt and Ismaelle Occeus also placed seventh in 47.63.
Honeycutt also garnered a seventh finish in the 400 meter dash (58.20), while Wells added a 15th place finish in the 100 meter hurdles (16.28).

Felicia Gordon- 11th place, 3000 meter steeplechase (16:40.44);
Sydney Haas- 15th place, hammer throw (86-11.75);
Jasmine Ray- 10th place, 1500 meter run (5:00.38);
Alisa Sanford- 11th place, high jump (4-10.75);
Michelle Velazquez- 13th place 5000 meter run (20:59.29);
The Golden Tigers next head to the Susan Rouse Inviational hosted by Southern Wesleyan University on Saturday in Central, SC.
