Indoor Track Continues Strong Season at Life U Super Bowl Meet

Marietta, Georgia- The Brenau track and field team returned to action this weekend competing at the Life U Super Bowl Indoor/Outdoor Meet as the squad produced some record-breaking marks and came away with a NAIA national qualifying mark.
Sophomore Madison Kitson leaped to a winning mark of 5.99m (19-7.75) in the women's long jump. That mark set a new school record, and hit the NAIA "A" standard and qualified the San Antonio, TX native for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in March. She topped off her strong meet performance by also placing second in the triple jump (11.35m / 37-2.75), 6th in the 400m (1:02.22), and was a part of the 4x400m relay team with Kamryn Chambliss, Kyra Laurent, and Ja'Leyah Wongus that placed 2nd (4:16.14).
The 4x800m relay team of Paula Battermann, De'Nya Reynolds, Averie Akin, and Victoria Woods set a new program record running 10:23.47. Later, the Distance Medley Relay team of Reynolds, Battermann, Woods, and Kendall Goetzman broke the school record running a time of 14:06.67.

Kendall Goetzman: 1 Mile Run - 4th place (6:11.04); 800m Dash - 6th place (2:47.40);
Taylor Knox: 60m Hurdles - 5th place (10.22); triple jump - 4th place (10.09m / 33-1.25);
Jasmine Johnson: 60m Dash - 5th place (8.04); long jump - 6th (4.91m / 16-1.25);
Madi McMahan: 1 Mile Run - 5th place (6:27.58);
Jasmine Ramsey: shot put - 7th place (10.31m / 33-10);
The squad returns to the track next Saturday at the Bulldog Open in Birmingham, Alabama.
