Indoor Track Competes at JDL College Kickoff

Winston Salem, North Carolina- Members of the Indoor Track and Field team had outstanding performances at the JDL January College Kickoff this past weekend.

In a deep and talented field, the Golden Tigers were led by four top-five finishes and had a host of other solid finishes. Freshman Mitchel Alex led the squad with a second place finish in the triple jump. The Johns Creek, Ga. native posted a leap of 11.83, which is an NAIA "A" standard qualifying mark and currently places her 6^th nationally.

Senior Cameron Mims added a fourth place finish in the shot put with a distance of 12.11m, while sophomore Kayland Thomason ran a time of 1:43.34 in the 600 meters to also garner fourth place honors.

Thomason also joined teammates Myia Neal, Tatyiana McClendon and Jayda Burkett in the 4x400 meter relay to capture fourth place in 4:16.49.
