Tennis Defeats Milligan 5-2
Gainesville, Georgia-The Brenau tennis team defeated Milligan (Tenn.) University 5-2 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday.
The Golden Tigers held off a very competitive Milligan (6-8 overall, 2-3 AAC) squad to earn the seventh victory of the season .
According to head coach Andre Ferriera, “Doubles was a battle. Both teams had match points at doubles No. 1. We were down a break 3-5 at doubles No. 1 and ended up winning in the tie-break 7-6 (11). The doubles point really helped us in singles play. Freshman Yousra Hidass did a great job getting a win at No. 1 singles and Kristina Radovic followed right after with a straight sets victory at singles No. 5. Senior Bianca Andersen clinched the 4th point for us at singles No. 3, which took pressure off the remaining courts.”
“We will now prepare for our next AAC match, scheduled for next Wednesday at Reinhardt.”
Brenau (7-5 overall, 5-2 AAC) next travels to take on Reinhardt (Ga.) University (6-2 overall, 5-1 AAC) on Wednesday at 2:30 pm.
