Tennis Defeats Johnson in AAC Matchup
Knoxville, Tennessee-The Brenau tennis team rolled past Johnson (Tenn.) University 6-1 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matchup on Tuesday.
After a sweep of doubles play, the Golden Tigers handled spots 1-5 in singles play to earn the fourth win of the season. Johnson’s Haley Thompson narrowly defeated Brenau’s Cady Geddings in a highly competitive match by a score of 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 1-0 (10-8).
According to head coach Andre Ferriera, “It was a good conference win on the road. It was a long day but I’m glad that we had great weather and some exciting lines against Johnson-especially at singles No. 6.”
Brenau (4-2 overall, 3-2 AAC) next hosts Arizona Christian University (1-4 overall, 0-1 AAC) on Wednesday at 3 pm.
