#5 Tennis Defeats Milligan 9-0 in AAC Play

Gainesville, Ga.- The #5 Brenau tennis team swept Milligan College 9-0 to remain undefeated in Appalachian Athletic Conference play at the Lessie Smithgall Tennis Center on Friday.

The Golden Tigers won all three matches in doubles play, including a pair of 8-1 wins at #1 and #2 doubles to take a 3-0 lead into singles competition.

In singles play, Brenau's Peeraya Charoensirisutthikul defeated Milligan's Chessa Jones (MC) 6-1, 6-0, to give her squad a 4-0 lead. At #1 singles, Rebecca Pijls clinched the match for the Golden Tigers with a convincing 6-0, 6-0, victory over Lexie Hill.

"We worked on specific game plans and situations during practice this week, and I felt that our team did a good job against Milligan trying to execute them," said head coach Andre Ferreira. "We will have another opportunity on Sunday against Middle Georgia to build on this work and grow as a team. It will be a great test for our group and I am looking forward to the competition."

Brenau hosts #12 Middle Georgia State in a non-conference match on Sunday at 1 pm eastern at the Lessie Smithgall Tennis Center in Gainesville.
