Tennis Defeats Milligan in AAC Play

The # 16 Brenau tennis team swept Milligan (Tenn.) College in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Sunday in Elizabethton, Tennessee.

"Our team played well today against Milligan," said head coach Andre Ferreria. "It was very nice to get a conference win on the road."

The Golden Tigers won all three doubles matches in commanding fashion, including an 8-0 win for the #1 pairing of Peeraya Charoensirisutthikul and Maya Mammetgulyyeva over Abby Allen and Chessa Jones.

In singles play, Kirsten Dickins won her #6 match over the Buffaloes' Marliana Peterson, 6-0, 6-2, while Paula Rives clinched the match with a straight set victory over Marliana Peterson 6-0, 6-2 to clinch the match.

Brenau (5-5 overall, 3-0 AAC) next travels to Furman (SC) University for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday at 6:30 pm in Greenville, SC.
