Tennis Drops Match To Sewanee, 8-1

The #20 Brenau tennis team fell to #17 University of Sewanee 8-1 in non-conference play on Friday in Sewanee, Tennessee.

After coming up short in three highly competitive doubles matches, the Golden Tigers competed hard against Sewanee in singles play. In #3 singles, Brenau's Maya Mammetgulyyeva fell to Ellie Czura in a close 7-5 first set, but faded in the second set, 6-1 to take the loss.

At #2 singles, Patricia Recalde Pacua lost the first set to Christina Merchant, but rallied to win 5-7 in the second, but was unable to close out the third set in the game-clinching match.
