Tennis Falls to Furman in Season Opener
The Brenau tennis team opened the 2017 season with a loss to NCAA Division I Furman (SC) University on Saturday in Greenville, SC.
The preseason NAIA fourth ranked squad struggled against the Paladins, losing all seven matches, but the contest served as early season preparation for their upcoming schedule.
"We were outmatched today. Furman is a fantastic team and they were great hosts," said head coach Andre Ferreira. "I enjoyed the match and think this is the kind of competition that will prepare our group for the season ahead. Our girls represented Brenau well and I noticed a few things we can work on this week as we prepare for two difficult matches next weekend."
Brenau next takes on NCAA II Georgia College and State University on Friday at 1pm in Milledgeville.
