#6 Tennis Falls to #3 Lindsey Wilson College
The #6 Brenau tennis team fell to #3 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College 8-1 on Wednesday in Chattanooga.
The Golden Tigers struggled in doubles play as the Blue Raiders swept all three matches to take a 3-0 lead into singles play.
Brenau's Paula Rives lost the first match at #6 singles 6-2, 6-0 to Maria Prados, then #5 singles Kirsten Dickins lost to Fiona Curty 6-1, 6-3 to close out the match.
Fatyha Berjane was the lone victor for the Golden Tigers at #1 singles.
"Lindsey Wilson was tough and very even from top to bottom," said head coach Andre Ferreira. "Our team has been playing a lot of matches lately, many of them against quality, ranked teams. This will ultimately serve us well in the long-run."
"In the short-term we've got to be resilient, learn from our mistakes, and grow stronger from this experience."
Brenau (14-4 overall, 8-1 SSAC) closes out the regular season on April 14th at 3 pm on Senior Day with a non-conference match against #2 ranked Georgia Gwinnett College in Gainesville. The Golden Tigers will honor seniors Fatyha Berjane and Kelley Cohron before the match during team introductions.
