Tennis Stretches Streak to Eight

The #6 Brenau tennis team notched their eighth straight win with an 8-1 win over Emmanuel (Ga.) College on Tuesday in Franklin Springs.

After a close 5-4 win over the University of North Georgia last Friday, the Golden Tigers continued their tough non-conference schedule against another very competitive opponent.

"As you can see from the results today, Emmanuel has a much improved team from previous years," said head coach Andre Ferreira. "In fact, this is the most talented Emmanuel team I've seen. We had competitive matches in several positions which, in my opinion, will help our team arrive more prepared in Mobile this weekend."

The Golden Tigers swept all three doubles matches, then opened singles play with a 6-1, 6-3 win from #5 player Kirsten Dickins to up the lead to 4-0. Patricia Recalde then finished off the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Katherina Kiderlen.

The host Lions won at #3 singles and had close matches at both #2 and #6 singles.

Brenau (11-2 overall, 5-0 SSAC) next plays #24 University of Mobile (Ala.) and #13 William Carey (Miss.) College at the SSAC Round-Up in Mobile on April 1-2
