#7 Tennis Wins Against #21 SCAD-Atlanta
The #7 Brenau tennis team had a strong overall team showing in a 7-2 victory over #21 SCAD-Atlanta on Friday in Gainesville.
After wins at #1 and #3 doubles allowed the Golden Tigers to take a 2-1 team lead, Fatyha Berjane overwhelmed Antonella Altamirano 6-1, 6-1 at #1 singles to make the team score 3-1.
#6 Kirsten Dickins increased the lead after a 6-3, 3-1 (ret.) win, then Rebecca Pijls closed out the match at #3 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Madison Umbaugh to give the Golden Tigers their first win of 2016.
"This was a nice win against a nationally ranked opponent," said head coach Andre Ferreira. "It was another good match to help prepare us for the upcoming SSAC matches next week."
Brenau (1-1 overall) next travels to Macon, Georgia to face Southern States Athletic Conference opponent Middle Georgia State on February 11th at 2 pm.
