Brenau Tennis Defeats Emmanuel College

Gainesville, Ga. - Brenau hosted Emmanuel College at the Smithgall Tennis Center and started conference play with a convincing 9-0 win. Brenau started the match winning all 3 doubles. Brenau's top doubles team of Lyn See Choo/Hannah Thompson defeated Tetley/Smith 8-1; Orlova/Mazackova won at No. 2 doubles 8-1; and the duo of Fr. Stephanie Moniz and So. Eline Nagels won at No. 3 doubles 8-0.GFollowing a 3-0 lead after doubles, the Golden Tigers won all singles matches in straight sets to secure the victory. Nelli Martirosyan gave Brenau a 4-0 lead after defeating Jackly Klerk at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0. Sr. Liuba Orlova clinched the win by defeating Kristin Porterfield at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0.

Brenau is now 1-0 in the SSAC and 2-2 in overall play for the season. The team will travel to Orlando, Fl on Sunday to play three matches over Spring Break. The first match, against Hillsborough Community College, is scheduled for Monday, February 28 at 5:30 pm.
