Choo and Mazackova Win Doubles at Clemson
February 6, 2011
Clemson, SC - During the second day at the Clemson Invitational the Brenau Golden Tigers competed in doubles against Georgia State University in the morning and singles against Clemson University in the afternoon.Due to a shortage of players, GSU only competed in two of the three doubles flights, giving Brenau an automatic walkover in doubles number 3.
The Golden Tigers started both doubles on Saturday with a very high intensity level. First off the courts were Thompson and Orlova who had a much closer match than the 8-2 score might indicate. They competed well and pushed GSU's number 2 doubles until the very end. The last and longest match of the morning came from Lyn See Choo and Kate Mazackova. Playing against the number 1 doubles team from GSU, Lyn See and Kate maintained a steady level throughout the match, pulling out a victory by the score of 9-7.
After the doubles matches were over, the Golden Tigers had less than 20 minutes to get started in singles. Playing against Clemson University, the Golden Tigers lost in all 6 singles positions. The last day of the event will happen tomorrow (Sunday, Feb. 06) when the Golden Tigers take on Armstrong Atlantic doubles in the morning and GSU's singles in the afternoon.
