Lyn See Choo Wins Twice at Central Alabama
October 10, 2010
Alexander City, Al. - Lyn See Choo presented Coach Leslie with a retirement present in his last tournament as Brenau's coach when she retained her Central Alabama title beating a very tough competitor in Mary Claire Slade (Georgia Perimeter College) in a repeat of last year's final by the score of 6-4,6-2. Lyn See recovered from a 4-1 deficit in the first set to sweep through the match losing only one additional game. She got stronger as the tournament progressed beating Dahbi and Mayou of Georgia Perimeter in the earlier rounds played in 90 degree weather. Lyn See commented that she likes the hot weather, it reminds her of her native Malaysia where the temperature never dips much below 80 degrees. Lyn See joined her doubles partner Katarina Mazackova to also win the doubles event over Slade and Mayou 8-4. The two girls played their best tennis of the year after going 2-0 down they found their attacking rhythm and dominated their opponents. Eline Nagels continued her unbeaten run in the B level singles event (she won the Georgia College tournament last week). She swept through the draw, losing only 3 games, beating Boyd of Georgia Perimeter 6-0, 6-0 in the final. This tournament concludes the fall season for the Tigers who will now concentrate on conditioning and technique improvement under new coach Andre Ferreira in preparation for the spring 2011 season.
