Tigers Tennis Opens Play in Blue Gray Tournament

Montgomery, AL - The Brenau tennis team kicked off their fall schedule today with a trip to Montgomery, Alabama to participate in the Fall Blue/Gray Tournament. This year the tournament attracted a top class field with the following schools competing - AUM, Brenau, Emory, Shorter, UAB and Huntingdon.
To allow more match time for the players the tournament was organized in a round robin format with six levels. Each level corresponds to the position on the team of the players involved. With many teams playing this means that each player will play a possible total of 4 matches in their group and also doubles.
With the temperature reaching 97 degrees, the lack of match play quickly became apparent as all of the Tigers dropped their opening rounds in both singles and doubles. As the day wore on their play did improve and they are looking forward to Saturdays matches, in, hopefully less brutal conditions.
