Swim Competes at SCAD Invitational
Savannah, Georgia- The Brenau swim team competed at the 2022 SCAD Invitational, hosted by SCAD-Savannah this past weekend.
In a highly competitive field, the Golden Tigers showed well and continued to progress individually and as a team.
Junior Melanie Wicht posted a solid day of swimming with a 23rd place finish in the 100 butterfly in 1:05.95. She followed up with a 30th place in the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:56.64 and a 36th place finish in the 50 freestyle in 27.21.
Sophomore Calli Edens also had a nice showing by placing 32nd in the 200 IM in 2:35.78 and 44th in the 50 freestyle in 28.90.
Freshman Mekai Smith also added a 41st finish in the 50 freestyle in 28.03.
Wingate (N.C.) University captured top team honors, while Emory (Ga.) University and Lynn (Fla.) University rounded out the top three team finishers.
Brenau takes a break from competition and will next hit the pool after the new year when the squad travels to Berry (Ga.) College for the Viking Invitational on January 14th
