Swimming Competes at SCAD Invitational

Savannah, Georgia- The Brenau swim team placed seventh at the SCAD Invitational in a strong field of teams this past weekend.

The Golden Tigers amassed 161 team points in the meet as Keiser University took top team honors with 708 points. Lynn University (692), SCAD Savannah (680), Emory University (583.5) and Berry College (246.5) rounded out the top five finishers.

The standout performance of the meet for Brenau was the 4x50 freestyle team of Bayley Blackmon, Harmina te Velthuis, Yanne Toussaint and Fani Antoniadou which set the Brenau school record with a time of 1:37.56.

The 4x50 Medley relay team of Harmina te Velthuis, Yanne Toussaint, Haley Bartoletta and Fani Antoniadou finished eighth in a time of 1:50.66, while the team of Meghan Mistric, Nikoletta Alvanou, Bayley Blackmon and Bailey Ibarra placed 18^th in the same event in 1:59.17.

Additionally, the 4x100 medley relay team of Harmina te Velthuis, Yanne Toussaint, Haley Bartoletta and Fani Antoniadou also placed eighth in a time of 4:07.10.

Fani Antoniadou, 7^th place, 50 Freestyle, 24.30; 17^th place, 100 freestyle, 53:18; 11^th place, 200 freestyle, 1:57.61;

Haley Bartoletta, 35^th place, 200 IM, 2:20.30; 18^th place, 200 butterfly, 2:15.23; 16^th place, 400 IM, 4:55.86;

Bayley Blackmon, 21^st place, 50 Freestyle, 24.82; 23^rd place, 200 backstroke, 2:17.70; 22^nd place, 100 butterfly, 1:02.56; 22^nd place, 100 backstroke, 1:03.47;

Bailey Ibarra, 22^nd place, 500 freestyle, 5:29.09; 43^rd place, 50 freestyle, 26:57; 16^th place, 200 freestyle, 2:05.68;

Meghan Mistric, 40^th place, 200 IM, 2:25.51;

Yanne Toussaint, 10^th place, 200 IM, 2:10.91; 9^th place, 200 backstroke, 2:07.34; 7^th place, 100 backstroke, 58:54;

Harmina te Velthuis, 14^th place, 500 freestyle, 5:18.23; 16^th place 50 freestyle, 24:75; 15^th place, 100 freestyle, 53.67; 8^th place, 200 freestyle, 1:57.69;

The Golden Tigers next hosts both Converse (S.C.) College and Columbia (S.C.) College on January 10^th in Gainesville.
