SCAD Edges Out Swimming in Dual Meet
Brenau swimming fell to Savannah (Ga.) College of Art and Design (SCAD) 158 to 102 in a dual meet on Saturday in Savannah.
Ella Kleinschmidt and Courtney Hayward led the way for the Golden Tigers as both swimmer won two events each. Kleinschmidt won the 200 FR with a time of 1:57.95 and the 500 FR in 5:14.56, while Hayward posted a 10:30.87 (splitting 5:15.59 /5:15.28) to win the 1000 FR and a 4:38.91in the 400 IM.
Other Brenau winners include Lindsay Dowling in the 100 BK (1:00.05), Alisha Hodgetts in the 100 FR (55.14) and M.K. Jabbia in 200 BRST (2:31.21).
New NAIA National times were also achieved by Hayward in the 200 Fly and Sarah Frey in the 200 BRST.
"This was a great tune-up meet for us as we head into our end of semester invitationals," said head coach Nate Rhoads. "I'm pleased with how the team swimming right now, but we can be better."
The swim team will be back in action on November 20-21 as Brenau hosts its annual invitational at the Frances Meadows Aquatic Center in Gainesville, GA.
