Swimming Falls Against NCAA I UNC-Asheville
The Brenau swim team suffered its first dual meet loss of the season as the Golden Tigers fell to University of North Carolina- Asheville 143-118 on Friday in Gainesville.
Brenau kept the meet close against the NCAA Division I squad through 12 events, but the Bulldogs pulled away in the 200 IM to clinch the meet.
The Golden Tigers had a strong showing as the team won eight of twelve individual events and won one of two relays.
M.K.Jabbia (200 IM), Madison Kosater (50 Free) and Ella Kleinschmidt (50 and 1,000 Freestyles) each achieved four new NAIA Qualifying times.
Brenau (2-1, overall 2-0 ASC) next travels to Savannah, Georgia for a double dual meet against last year's NAIA runners-up, Savannah College of Art and Design and the 2015 NCAA Division III National Champions, Emory (Ga.) University, .
Additionally, Brenau welcomed home UNCA Head Coach Elizabeth Lykins, a Gainesville native who grew up swimming at Brenau as a member of Lanier Aquatics.
