Brenau Swimming To Participate In Charity Event
The Brenau Golden Tigers swim team will attend the Eric Shanteau SwimForYourLife 1K and 5K open water swim, a LIVESTRONG event, hosted at Lake Lanier Islands on Saturday, Sept.21.
The Swim For Your Life event was started based on the idea that no matter what obstacle a person faces, they can still live the life they have dreamed about. Over the past two years, hundreds of people have shown up to join Eric and many of his fellow Olympians to show their support in the fight against cancer. Participants are able to race alongside some of the best swimmers in the world in either a 1K or 5K open water swim around Sunset Cove. Awards are presented by the Olympians at the conclusion of the race. Afterwards, the national team members share their secrets to fast swimming in clinic held on the beach. All proceeds from Swim For Your Life go to benefiting the programs and services of the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
All Brenau swimmers will compete in the open water course races. For more information about the Eric Shanteau SwimForYourLife event and to donate, visit http://
